Resignations
The latest release of Epstein files prompted resignations and investigations of prominent figures around the world, including executives at Goldman Sachs and Hyatt and Britain’s former ambassador to the US.
Context
The Justice Department released more than 3M documents at the end of last month containing years of correspondence and evidence connecting Epstein to wealthy and powerful people. Over the course of the last two weeks, news outlets and social media users have combed through the 3M+ files, finding previously unknown connections that Epstein had with global leaders, business executives, and prominent academics.
Corporate Exits
Kathryn Ruemmler, Goldman Sachs’ chief legal officer and former White House lawyer under President Obama, resigned after files showed she was one of three people Epstein called when arrested in 2019, and that she called him “Uncle Jeffrey.”
