A number of the Heritage Foundation’s highest-profile scholars left, the latest schism in the conservative movement.

Heritage has for decades been one of Washington, DC’s most influential think tanks, researching and promoting policies it hopes Republican politicians will adopt. While traditionally a bastion of Reaganite pro-trade, hawkish foreign policy views, it has adopted more populist policies and sought to cater to President Trump.
That’s both made it the Trump think tank while alienating many of its traditional researchers and donors.
Defections
In the days leading up to Christmas, several of Heritage’s highest-profile researchers announced that they were leaving to join a new think tank being launched by former Vice President Mike Pence (R).
